Things I am thankful for...

Just because I saw this on Brandie's blog (I'm not even sure how I found her blog...?) and it made me feel good reading hers, so I decided today would be that type of post!

Join in if you so please!

1. For family, as much as they sometimes get on my nerves with details and gifts and little quirks of how things "should" be, I love them and would not change them for the world. They always have supporting and loving things to say, they will watch Miss J in a bind (or our puppy Bella for that matter), they would be there for us in the drop of a hat, and they are the most loving people I think I know!

2. For the house that we live in for it is a roof over our head. As much as we are crammed in there and have so much crap that we need to use the garage as storage on top of the storage unit that we have, and as much as we pray constantly about a bigger house and that "dream" house...I am thankful we at least have a house, with heat, and doesn't leak.

3. For my job. Though I am often VERY bored and under challenged and sometimes wonder if I should seek out a more challenging job that will keep me on my toes and bring in more money and fill me in that "need to be job filled" type of way. I don't think I could ever find a job closer to home (15 minutes), closer to Miss J's school (10 minutes), a better boss who is very understanding if I have a doctor appt, if I am sick, if my daughter has to leave school early because she has "XYZ", or last minute vacation, or leave early for whatever I have going on in my life...it is too good!

4. For my husband who is always tolerant of me with my moodiness, my un-emotion sometimes, with my lack of interest for sex sometimes, with my flippant remarks (trying to be funny)...who always loves me and kisses me and hugs me, and still grabs my butt now and then which reminds me he still wants me even though we have been married 2 1/2 years and have a baby and my body will never be the same again!

5. For my friends (physical or blogshpere). Even though I might go a day here or there (or sometimes months), they will be there for me in the blink of an eye for whatever! They are always there to lift me up, to be honest with me, to remind me, to convict me, and to love me. Such a blessing.

6. For the wonderful weather we have today. Almost feels like spring again. The sun is out, the air is about 72 degrees, the wind is blowing. It was a great time to run at lunch and listen to a sermon on my MP3 player and just be at one with the leaves and the grass and the caterpillars...

7. For my sunroof on my car. So I can crank it open on my way home from work, feel the sun coming through the windows, blast my music and feel like it is summer again!

8. And of course for my dear daughter. I don't think I could ever experience a more honest, un-selfish, unconditional love that I have for her. They talk about it, I have read about it...but you don't know it until it happens. I would do anything for her and sometimes just want to hold her in my arms forever and squeeze her until her eyes pop...ok, maybe that is too much...but feeling her lay on my chest and hearing her breathe and melt into me, just reminds me of God's love for His children, for me and you. Such a relief to know someone feels that way about me too!

Thanks for letting me share...there is really a ton more I could write about, but I thought I would let you share now!!

I stumbled across your blog this morning when I hit the "next blog" button. Thank you so much for publishing a post on things you are thankful for. It was a great reminder to me on this rainy, cloudy, gloomy, chilly October day that even though there are things in my life that are not perfect (like the weather) - there is a something about those things to be thankful for. Please come and visit me on my blog: www.emmalinesworld.blogspot.com

What a great post! I definitely need to stop and think about the things I'm thankful for sometimes. It's too easy to take things for granted.

Thank you for making me stop and think!

Can I tell how silly I feel right now? When I read that you had read my blog, I got all giddy! What a goof! Your list was much better than mine, but doesn't feel good just to sit and think about the good things for a little while.
