My weekend was absolutely fabulous!
Friday night started off by riding in the Memorial Ride for my FIL. Very, very emotional. It was a great feeling to be on the back of my FIL's motorcycle with my husband. Wow! I was a little nervous, I will admit. DH and I have not been on a motorcycle together since we got pregnant...that is been awhile. So I was a bit nervous about both of us being on one, with Miss J being in the picture now. But, I also felt a little better knowing we would be in a huge pack of bikes, so the visibility of other cars seeing us was much better.
It felt good though. Seeing all the people there, supporting my MIL and the family. There were at least 70 motorcycles and easily over 100 people that showed up. Might have even been more once we got to the last stop and had pizza and the raffle. I really wonder how many were finally there. The count that night, was that we raised over $2500 for the family. That is incredible when you really think about it! There were so many people out there that loved and was touched in one way or another by my FIL. And knowing that he had no life insurance (didn't believe in it), and left behind a pretty good amount of debt (in both MIL and FIL names)...this will really help my MIL out!! And the support continues...it is amazing! Praise God for all the blessings and love!!
Saturday, my mom watched Miss J (overnight from Friday) so we could go paint/stain the garage doors and porch at my mom's rental house. My mom has been stressed to the gills with her knee surgery (hopefully will be getting a knee replacement soon) and dealing with my grandpa and moving him from Oregon to Oklahoma. That is a whole soap opera in itself. So, I offered to help her out with some stuff at her rental house to ease the stress a bit. It was HOT!! 90+ degrees, in October. Crazy.
Sunday, we skipped church for a little R&R. Then went to the local pumpkin patch to get pumpkins. It was fun. Miss J was a bit cranky, and would much rather stay in the wagon than get out and pick a pumpkin. It was goofy. Then when we put the pumpkins in the wagon to pull, she got mad because she wouldn't fit any more. So we had to carry her. Oh well...I got some good pictures, I will post later.
Then yesterday, Monday, I got ready for work and was on my way when it dawned on me. Today is Columbus day, my daughter has the day off from school, my husband is home watching her, it is a gorgeous day outside...why the heck am I going into work today?? I took a vacation day for next week, but I could switch it to today. Duhhh...so I turned around and called into work and changed my day off. Then I went back home and the family went to the Zoo!! What a beautiful day! It was 87 degrees, not a cloud in the sky, and we were going to the Zoo (along with all the other kids that had a day off of school too). But that was OK. It wasn't too crowded.
Miss J had so much stinking fun. It is cool she can actually see the animals now and she points them out and looks with awe! It is amazing to see. We went the the petting zoo, and she wanted to hug all the goats. She is goofy. But I think it was cool for her to see. She probably thought they were all dogs...he he.
So, back to work today. It is hard when you have such a fulfilling weekend, to have to go back to the bump and grind and miss your little girl and husband. I need to get back on the workout bandwagon though. I have been quite the slacker. So I need to motivate myself to go run at lunch time! You can do it...it will feel soooo good after you do it!! Just do it!!
Have a great week girls!!

It does sound like you had a good weekend! I'm glad you got to spend a day with your baby and hubby. :o) Those days are always nice. I've got to get back on the workout (and eating healthy) bandwagon too. I'm trying to decide if I want to go walking on lunch too. I need to get some walking in but I don't want to go if it's too hot. Now I'm just thinking out loud on your blog. Haha. Go running! :p
What a great weekend!! Sometimes it is so much fun to play hookey (sp?) with your family!! The zoo on a beautiful day sounds like the perfect way to spend the day with your two favorite people!!!
I am glad you enjoyed yourself!!
Your day off sounds like it was sooooo nice!! I can't wait for Brody to be old enough to take to the Zoo!! I wanna see pictures!!

I'm so glad to hear that the Memorial Ride for your FIL went well. That's SO amazing! He was really loved.
How cool about your extra day off Monday. Sounds like an awesome day with the family. We're taking Jackson to the zoo tomorrow...but it's more for us than him I'm sure. :)
You can get BabyLegs online at www.babylegs.net or people make them and sell them on eBay too. Heck you might even be able to convince me to make you a pair. ;)
Have a great weekend!
