So I changed it up a bit. I have always liked the peaceful view of trees and leaves and fall and browns and deep reds...so we will see how this jives with me. Unfortunately, I lost all of my links and special stuff...but that is what I get for trying to mess with stuff. I am not the most web-friendly type, but I try. I learn from others (and mistakes) and mess around a bit. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose. Oh well.
Tonight...date night. My mom is watching Miss J overnight so we have the whole night to do whatever we please! I joked and told DH that I wanted to spend the evening cleaning out our closets throwing out old stuff and donating stuff to good-will etc...he looked at me with that eye that said, "um, yeah, and I will be at the bar!" He he. I do need to get that done at some point. And it is not something likely to be done with the babe in tow...so will have to schedule a Saturday where the babe goes to my mom's again and we do a sweep...right.
We decided we are going to Luigi's for pasta, wine, and a bit of piano music. I suggested going to play pool somewhere or darts or something like we used to do when we were dating where we would often spend hours upon hours hanging out, talking, drinking, and having a blast. Guess those days are over. We grew up, got married, had a kid...no more fun for us. Seriously, times have really changed. What we used to do no longer seems fun or worth the time for us to do? I don't know. I guess our time together now is precious that we would rather spend it actually talking about what is going on in our lives, talking about our daughter, jobs, house, etc...or just having s.e.x. because the time is hard to find otherwise. We are either tired, stressed, or daughter (or dog for that matter) is in the room or on the bed. Ugh...hopefully we will make some special time tonight for that kind of thing while kicking the dog out of the room!!
Miss J had her followup doc appt on Wednesday. She still has low iron. I don't get it. We were giving her the Poly-vi-sol with Iron supplements as prescribed and still low. She isn't anemic low, but low enough to have another appt after month with an increase in dose of the straight iron stuff. If after that she is still low, they are going to have to do a full blood workup (CBC) to see what else it could be. She eats a variety of food, meat, green vegs, beans...I don't get why it is low. I think it may be a mistake of the test...but who am I to not trust the test and the doc.
We went to a new doc this time, our regular ped is on a personal leave for an undisclosed amount of time. We REALLY liked her and what a B&*$h it is to find another ped. This one is still in the same practice, and is new...and I kind of liked her. But she still doesn't know the history of Miss J and her heart murmur and birth stuff. We also had this followup appt because of the milk allergy stuff we had going on when we switched to the Whole milk. We have been on soy milk since that time, and haven't seen any real breakouts or reactions. We did give her some cottage cheese and think that may have caused a small reaction...but can't be sure. There is teething and colds and stomach virus' going around so we can't be sure. But this new doc heard that there may be an allergy and she went full blown on the no milk products (at all) and no eggs, etc. To me that was overboard. She has eaten eggs (yolks) and ice cream and yogurt and stuff...no problem...but she wants to keep her off it all. Um, yeah, don't think so. I think we will do it in moderation and watch closely for reaction and see what happens. But she did say, then, that the vaccinations should be moved out (MMR, flu - which I am not getting at all anyway) because they contain egg products. So, I am fine with that excuse.
Miss J has been working on pushing out and skipping her morning nap so that we can get her moved over to the next toddler room. She has also been visiting with that room to see how she does...it is going GREAT! I was a bit frustrated that back when she turned a year I asked the teachers what we should do and when we should try to start moving her. They gave me the direction that there is no rush and she will probably move over at the end of November...uh, OK. I wish that could happen sooner, but they seemed to have their mind set (and their rules with when they move them over seem to change too). So when I was talking to the new teacher one night she talked about moving her over and said that whenever I was ready they would start working with her...uh...whenever I am ready...I am ready, I have been ready since Sept 3rd people! But at least that got the ball moving.
So now she is more tired and cranky when she gets home, but hopefully that will mean she will go down for be better and earlier and sleep better. Hopefully next week we will see better effects. But she really likes it! She is doing great with pushing out her naps and she is even sleeping on a cot! Whooo hoo. That is cool!
OK, almost quitting time. I wanted to share a cute little story about my girl and her blood draw...oh, OK, I will:
So, they had to draw blood for the iron test...they did it from her heal. She was oh not happy and crying, etc. Then they put a bandaid on and she calmed down a bit with me holding her. After she calmed down she started playing with the bandaid, and eventually took it off. Fast forward to being at home, about 2 hours later. We were changing her for bed and she was sitting on the floor in her diaper. She points down at her foot (the one that got poked) and looks at me, pulls her foot up to her mouth and kisses it. Like she was saying..."mom, I have an owie and I am going to kiss it." Too cute right. A little later, we were playing with something that had some scotch tape on it and she pulls it off and starts playing with it. She reaches down and puts it on her heal like it was a bandaid and kisses her foot. OMGoodness...I just could not believe it. Those sponge brains just soak up so much that it blows my mind what she remembers and brings back up. Crazy! But awesome!
Enjoy your weekend ladies!

Wow. I can't believe how big she's getting. I've been crappy about leaving comments lately.
Sorry to hear her iron is still low. Hopefully it will get figured out.
Enjoy your date night!
Love the new look!!!! Hope you had an amazing date night and enjoyed the rest of your weekend!!!
Glad to hear Miss J is transitioning!!! I am sure she will do great in the next room!!!
That is too cute about her foot! LOL How awesome. Mackenna started doing something similar to that this past weekend. She would take various toys and hold them up to her ear and hold it between her ear and shoulder. At first I didn't know what she was doing but then yesterday she said, "hewo"! So I started telling her she was a good girl for saying hello and was asking her if her sippy cup was her phone. LOL :o) It is so amazing how quickly they pick up on things - especially things you don't think they are paying attention to. :o)
Love your new look!
I have a friend whose son had low iron and he is seven and still has low iron. He has been taking the Poly-Vi-Sol since he was itty bitty. He also eats a variety of foods, but for whatever reason, his body just does not produce enough iron. Although, his iron is low, he has always been very healthy and has never been any sicker than any other child. So, even though Miss J has low iron, in the long run I am betting she is going to be perfectly OK!
Like the new look, very pretty. The pics are great too. I'm sure Miss J will transition great into the new room! I was sure glad when they finally moved Grace up and she just loves all the new activities!
I really like the new layout. Nice choice!
I hope you had a great date night. I definitely understand what you mean about "fun" being much different now.
What a cute story about her owie!
