Job update

I know, two posts in one day. Scroll down to see the meme I did, but I needed to let you know about some news and request some prayers!

DH got a call this morning from a dealership about a job interview and wanted to know if he could come in at 10am this morning. I was shocked. DH had told me he sent his resume to this place, but wasn't sure how long the ad had been out there and assumed they probably already had someone. So when they called this morning, I was pleasantly surprised.

So he had the interview, didn't last too long, and things went very very well. DH said they were looking for someone with the type of experience that DH has (10+ years in a BMW dealer, 5 years with Chevy, 1 yr with Harley) and that they are looking for someone to come in and be the champion of the group and help increase their CSI (not the TV show goofs) and get some people in track. Hmmm, sounds kind of familiar. That is what they wanted when they hired DH at Harley...they wanted to get new fresh people in there and try to make it run like a car dealership, get people on track and make some real changes. Yeah, that really worked. If you don't have the upper management on the same track...that kind of stuff don't work people!!

Anyway...so this has some hope though. The pay is VERY nice...it is a Bentley dealership. I know, I know, we could NEVER afford a Bentley in our lives, but he would be working for one. I guess they work on all kinds of cars, but more luxury cars, which DH has experience with.

Side note:
I thought it was kind of funny that DH drove his 97 Chevy Pickup to the interview...could you imagine what they thought?

Back to the story. So pay is VERY good, but hours would be crazy for the first few months until they were up and going and they got a third service writer in there. And then he could drop his hours and be more flexible. But for now, hours would be M-Th 10-8pm, F 9-6, and Sat 9-6. And in a couple months, the Saturdays would be rotated too so he would only have to work every other. That is a change from him being home now and being able to have breakfast and dinner with both Miss J and I. But, I told him we could work with it if in a couple of months that schedule would change and he would have some Saturdays and evenings.

I don't know what to think? DH says over and over that he wants to get out of the car business and not work for someone else. But he is looking into it...again. However, it is great money, and would bring us back up to speed with our finances and maybe get us into another house (or add onto our house...story for another time) and have another child, enjoy those trips we have been wanting to take forever! Gosh, tempting.

At first I was very sceptical, but I prayed a lot about it today and feel better that this would be a good option. I have been pushing DH to really spend all his "free" time working on promoting his Home Inspection business and coming up with ways to spread the word and get some business. And I even went as far to think we could live on one income until he really gets this business going, and we could even drop the amount of days that Miss J is in daycare to 2 or 3 (cut down on expenses) and DH could stay home with her, and do any kind of inspection stuff on the days she is in school. I mean, it really sounded like a great idea to me, but DH wasn't on board with it. Not sure why. But then the whole think with we would not be able to move into a bigger house because we don't have that extra income which puts off having a second child any time soon thing came into question too. Which, this job opportunity would completely open that door back up. But does he really want to get back into that business.

Ahhhh, that is the struggle I am having. So, I need to ask for prayer. Give it up to God and let him open the doors if it is the right path that DH is supposed to take right now. And if it is not, let those doors close and be clear that this is not the right path for now. Because I don't know. And DH doesn't know. Crazy.

DH is supposed to get a call tomorrow or Friday to set up a meeting with the Director and talk more about the position. DH is anxious to see how this guy is and see if maybe the politics will be different at this place.

Please pray, again. We appreciate it!!

I'll be sending out some prayers for you in hopes that you find the guidance that you need to take the path that is right for your family.
Hopefully, the meeting tomorrow will give your DH more insight into the answer you are looking for.

How exciting, and scary!! I'll be praying for you, that God will show you which way He wants you to go.
For I know that plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you hope and a future. Jer 29:11

That is a perfect way to get your prayer life back on track, isn't it?? see? When we need to start praying together about things, God quickly gives us things to pray about. He is the only one who has the answer. I will pray for open and closed doors for you as well.
