Here is an odd one. This is a rarity, but obviously it happens.
DH has the dreaded hand, foot, mouth disease that is running around rampant in children lately. It is the typical summer/fall virus that is much like a cold, and spreads like crazy through the school. Miss J has been lucky not to get it, but somehow dad did. Not sure yet how, or why he got it and not Miss J, but whatever the reason.
I feel a little bad because I was laughing at DH yesterday (and most the weekend) because he was making such a big deal about feeling sick and having this rash on his hands and chest. I thought it was funny because I attributed it to an allergic reaction to something (most likely a new shirt I bought him to wear on Saturday) because Sunday is when he noticed the rash, and he was freaking out thinking it was chicken pox or the mumps or something highly contagious and didn't want to get us sick. Very nice of him...but I still thought it was funny that he was literally freaking out about it.
So he went to the doctor last night (YES, he actually went to the doctor) and he has two things. One is an allergic reaction, the rash on his chest. But the other is h/f/m disease which started with a fever on Friday/Saturday, then spots on the hands, then a sore throat and then spots on the throat yesterday. I am glad he went to the doc and was told what he had because I don't think I could have handled DH going on and on and on about what he "could" have and how he doesn't want to touch anything or anyone and worried about going to work, etc. He was really going crazy about this...and driving me nuts!!
So far, neither Miss J nor I have gotten any symptoms. But, the incubation period could be up to 7-days, so there is still a possibility, though we hope not!!
So, I am asking for prayers that DH recovers quickly from this virus, and that neither Miss J nor I get it or ANY symptoms of it!! From what I hear, it can be quite miserable for children (mainly because they don't understand why their throat and hands and feet hurt and have blisters all over) and if I were to get it, it could be mild, but I too would rather not be feeling sick and miserable during the last 4-5 weeks of pregnancy!! So if you could shoot a little prayer for us, we would appreciate it!!!
I am off to work, again, so have a great Tuesday.

Oh that sounds miserable. Poor guy. I will pray that you and Miss J don't catch it. You better be on lysol patrol!! :)
Yikes, I hope your DH gets better soon, and that neither of you two catch it!!!
Already praying. Fortunately, no one in our house has ever had it, but I have friends whose kids have had it. It is no fun and there isn't a lot you can do about it. Hope he gets better soon.
Yuck! However, we must admit that when our husbands are sick they usually make it into being the end of the world and are so completely pathetic! I guess that's why men can't be pregnant!
In all seriousness, I hope that he feels better soon!
Yuck Yuck Yuck ... prayers for sure from here! Tatum had that 2 weeks ago it was horrible! Yes from Day Care ... haha
Hope DH feels better soon
Does DH have diabetes? My step-mom got that h/f/m disease. When she went to the doctor, they both were really surprised that she had it because it's not common at all for adults to get it - apparently. So then her doctor asked her if she was diabetic and she said "yes" and he said that diabetes weakens your immune system so that you are more suseptible to viruses and diseases adults don't normally get. So yeah, my step-mom had it too. LOL :o) I hope he feels better soon though!
Ewww, yucky! Poor DH!!! I hope he starts feeling better soon! As Jamie mentioned, my mom had it a while back. I hope you and the kiddo don't get it!
hey ... how is Dh's job going?!
I LOVE the pictures in your previous post! You look amazing and absolutly adorable!! and Miss J is growing up so fast. She's such a pretty little girl.
I hope that DH gets better soon!!
