27 days?

When did that happen. How do I only have 27 days left until my due date...notice I say due date...deep down I think this little boy will be early, but now that I have said that he is bound to be late!!

I felt pretty good over the weekend (pregnant wise), light and airy, not like I only had 4-weeks left and was in my 9th month!! But today, different thing. It is crazy how the way the baby sits makes a HUGE difference on how I feel. I think he is sideways today and poking his little feet into my side. So my tummy just hurts...I am also a little swollen but I think that is mostly from the humidity we have going on here.

Yeah, humidity, you hear about all the rain and flooding we got up here in Chicagoland (not to take away from the hurricane down in Texas or anything)...we had some flooding in our area, closed streets and highways, and in our own home our well flooded and caused the line to break to our house leaving us without water for over 24 hours. That is really minimal compared to what some other people had to deal with (we don't have a basement so no flooding of that kind). But, you don't realize how much you really use water until you don't have it. Luckily we had power so at least I could watch TV or go online (rather than washing dishes or doing laundry). It was a little inconvenient as we couldn't get a well guy out to look at anything until today. But...DH, being the handy man that he is, went and got another subpump to try to get the water out of the pit quicker than it was coming in, then at about 5pm last night proceeded to fix the line to the house himself. What a little handy man...and he did it. So by 7pm we had water again.

Miss J and I had already headed to my mom's house to take a shower and have dinner, since there was no guarantee that he could actually fix it (not based on his talents...based on his knowledge of wells). But, he did, and I was able to take a shower...and flush a toilet...this morning. Yeah...you know how many times a day a pregnant lady goes potty? Uh...LOTS!! That was a bit tough having DH go in every time I went to the bathroom and fill up the tank to the toilet again so we could flush it. Oh, the fun!!

But, that was my excitement over the weekend. Still have not packed my bag yet. I am not sure what the heck I am waiting for. I guess deep down I think this delivery will be as easy and simple as Miss J's. With her, Saturday night, we were having dinner and I started feeling contractions, regularly. We called the doc, she said to take a shower, get our bags, come to the hospital...then the next day I delivered. I didn't have to worry about it being in the middle of the night (having to call all the family to wake them up), it wasn't in the middle of a work day where I needed to have someone drive me to the hospital (which is just down the street), I wasn't in the middle of a shopping mall miles away from the hospital, by myself, when my water broke. It was nice and leisurely. Again, now saying that, he will probably spring on my at the most inconvenient time!! In any case, for some reason I just don't feel that urgent yet to get everything done. I don't know why.

We did get some infant diapers over the weekend, and I got some bottles (in case I am not able to BF or have to pump and feed by the bottle for awhile). Everything else in the room is pretty much ready. I should wash some more clothes, and we do need to get a small stand and radio/CD player for the baby's room. But again, I don't feel any real urgency to get that done right now. I am sure that will change over the next week or so as the time continues to grow near. For now...just enjoying the last few weeks of feeling baby boy kicking and moving and jabbing my ribs. Enjoying not having to get up all the time to get things when I am all comfortable on the couch (DH does a lot of honeydo stuff for me). Enjoying not having to pick up Miss J all the time or put her in the car when DH is around. Enjoying the long warm soaking baths where it seems like all worries just fade. Enjoying people ask me "Wow...how much longer do you have!"...OK, not that part. But just going to enjoy the next couple weeks, baby crying free, with DH and Miss J as my happy place!!

Have a great week.

I can't believe how close you're getting! It's crazy how, even though you've been through labor before, it still scares the crap out of you to think about it. It does me anyways. Every delivery is differnt, and I'm just wondering how different this one is going to be for us!

Like you, going into labor with Ali was more of a leisurely thing...I'll take that again, please. But the delivery was TERRIBLE and I hope that I'm able to have a way better time this time...but it freaks me out just thinking about it! :o)
