Had a great weekend. We got pictures taken on Saturday for Miss J's 2yr birthday, and some family shots. For all y'all who have been begging for a belly shot...here ya go!
So I have a predicament? DH had this cute idea for the baby's room. Since Miss J's theme of her room was ABC's, we have block letters on the wall of A, B, and C, in the same colors as her crib bedding was. Since it was neutral enough, we are using it for BP2 (how convenient...ya think I planned that...I sure did!!). So DH came up with this idea of putting block letters on his wall of X, Y, and Z. Cute. But the more I think about it...the more it is like saying this IS the last baby. The end of our journey with kids, no more...honestly, I am not sure this will be the last one. I really don't think DH is either (he just jokes around a bit). But, we really aren't going to know until BP2 gets here, and we see how 2 kids are and see financially what we can do, etc. I mean, it could be a couple more years before we decide definitively if we are done having kids or not.
So yesterday, I was at a craft store, all ready to buy these block letters, when it came over me. Do I really want to do this. If I get these letters and put them up, am I making a statement and agreeing that this is our last child? X Y Z. All done, finished!! Ahhh...freaked me out. So I didn't buy the letters.
Am I being a goof? Should I just buy the letters? It is a cute idea. And really, does it mean we are done having kids, no. Does it make a statement that I agree 2 kids is all I want? I don't know. Should I not worry about it and just do it because it is cute anyway?
I thought about moving the ABC letters from Miss J's room to the baby's room, but DH said no because they are Miss J's letters and that we need something new for the baby. But since we don't have a name yet, what should we do.
I know, silly stuff over "letters", huh? Any thoughts for this prego woman in distress??
I will post some more pictures later. I really have to "work" this week and not slack off like I have been...I have felt really guilty the past couple of weeks. I will try to log on at night some time (I have been soooo exhausted lately) and catch up with you all!!

I love the pictures! They are wonderful.
I like the letter idea, I think it is really cute. If you do that, maybe you could do numbers for the next baby, if there is a next.
Those pictures are beautiful!! Love them! And the letter idea is cute, but I'd probably think of the same thing, if I were in your shoes. What about L, M, N, O, P instead? haha... I don't know. I'd probably just use the ones you have again and then add in some other boy elements like sports or cars or something.
What about doing numbers 1,2,3 instead? And, I still think that even with X, Y, Z, that doesn't mean you can't have #3! I say, don't worry about #3 before #2 has even arrived. If it was meant to be, you can make it happen, so just relax and enjoy it!
Those pictures are great. You look fantastic!!
I absolutely LOVE the pictures!!! Miss J is just so adorable! Too sweet! And she looked soooo cute. I love the way you have her hair styled and she just looks so precious. The three of you make such a cute family. :o) As far as the letters, I would buy them if you like them. They're just letters and they don't mean anything until they spell a name or a word or something. X, Y, Z are just X, Y, Z. It's not code for "we're done having kids" or "this is it". :o) If you two really like the idea, then get it. If not, then don't worry about it but I wouldn't read too far into it. Take care! :o)
Such cute pictures:) You look great!
I would go ahead with the theme if you really like it! cute idea! If you do go for baby #3, you can have a whole new theme. I wouldn't worry about it as a statement that this is your last. I'm the same way. Haven't even given away any of Ethan or Chloe's baby clothing!
Love Love the pictures ... you are too cute!
Letters ... get them ... it doesn't mean you are done it doesn't mean you want no more ...
and I agree the other letters need to stay with Miss J
adorable pictures. You're such a splendid family! :)
I have no answer re the letters. I might tend to think as you do, but I'm not feeling terribly grounded today so I can't let you rely on me. :)
The pictures are fantastic! You look great, too!
I like Jenny's idea with "1,2,3."
I love the "1,2,3" idea! Or you could do baby's name initials as your letters. Miss J looks adorable. I love the picture of her head resting against your baby belly. A lifetime keeper!
Adorable pictures!!! I love them, especially of Miss J with her head on your belly, and her hand reaching up to your hands in the heart shape. Priceless! I say, just don't get the X, Y, Z, letters. Just in case...you never know, it may truly not be the end! Especially since it sounds like you aren't 100% certain that it will be!
I really like the X,Y,Z idea, but if it makes you feel like it could be the end....then don't do it. The big thing in our area is getting letters to spell out the child's name on the wall which would go along with ABC bedding still.
Love the pics!!!! My favorite is the one of Josey with her head on your belly. Priceless!
Love those pictures! What about doing BP 2 initials on the wall?? It is still keeping with the theme but making it unique for #2!
those pictures are amazing!!!!!!
and about the letter thing - i dont think you are crazy at all. X-Y-X is very 'the end' in our minds, it was put there since the kindergarden! although a cute theme to keep going with, if those letters are too final for you, then find another way to welcome BP2 into the room...either way i am sure its a super cute room!
Love the pictures.
My thought was the same as Annie's. Go with letters from the middle of the alphabet. Just my thought though.
Your family pictures are beautiful!
Those pictures are awesome! Miss J is looking so grown-up and is such a little cutie pie. You look great as well.
