Yes, she did. Miss J took her first "official" steps this weekend with NO HELP!! I was just floored and could not believe it. I still don't believe it, I kind of feel like it was a dream. Crazy!!
Saturday, my girlfriend and her daughter, who is 9-months old, came over and we had our first play date. Too fun. So we were sitting outside on the patio with the kids in between us and I was standing Jos up. Sometimes I will do this and try to let go to see if she can get her balance. Well, she did, and I dropped my mouth and was like "look at her". Then she started stepping and I was like "what the heck, omg, what is going on", and she proceeded to take 3-steps toward my girlfriend.
Ahhhhh!!!!
Then she did it again from my girlfriend back to me. And it was not one of those lunging steps, it was a completely balanced step like she knew how to do it all along and she was just waiting for US to be ready. Haa!!
So now we want her to be doing it all the time, but she is doing that lunging type of walk...which is OK. But it is too cute. When we clap and get all excited she smiles real big and is so happy. So hopefully that will encourage her more!!
Saturday night we had date night. We went out to this new Italian place in town which we have been trying to remember to try. It was OK, but mainly just nice to sit down, have a good meal, bottle of wine, and chat like we were grownups. Then we got to sleep soundly through the night, and sleep in a bit on Sunday since Jos was at grandma's all night. It was weird not hearing her talking to herself in the morning and waking us up and getting her ready. Odd.
Yesterday...we had to go downtown to see my FIL...AGAIN. Yes, he is still in the hospital. Going on 4-weeks. It REALLY sucks and we are all having a real difficult time with it. Please...continue with the prayers. Patience, refreshing and positive thoughts, and lots of clarity for the doctors!!
Today at lunch, I went to buy some Veggie Tale CD's to sing along to with Jos. They are oh so cute. I got one called "Boyz in the Sink". Goofy spoof on the hip hop songs of the day. Don't think she is quite ready for that one...but it was fun. The other two are "Worship Songs" and "Bob and Larry sing the 70's". The 70's one is awesome...all those real funky songs, sung by Bob and Larry. Haaa! Can't wait to start singing with Jos.
Last thing on my mind for the day...what the heck am I supposed to do for her 1st birthday? I mean, do I do the whole "theme" party...and if so what "theme"? Do I need "party gifts" if it is just going to be family and friends (not too many kids). I mean, how involved and crazy do you really need to get for a 1st birthday? At this age, it is more for the other people and for the pictures, right? Help me out with this one...I am really lost at how much I should do, or not do.
Oh...diet is going very well. I sure hope I lost AT LEAST another 2 lbs this week. I feel good and healthy and like I am really on track. It is so refreshing. I LOVE WW girls!!!

congrats on the weight loss too!
That is exciting that Miss J is taking her first steps!
Good for you with sticking with WW. It can be slow and frustrating at times. (I am definitely not losing weight as quickly as I would like.) I hope you have a good weigh in!
Her first steps--how cool is that!! Next thing you know, she will be running all over the place!
How exciting that she took her first steps! That's awesome! :p I can't wait for Mackenna to be more mobile like that. Haha. (I'm sure I'll be regretting saying that once she is mobile.)
I know what you mean about the birthday deal. I know I have a few more months than you do but I've been thinking about it as well. This is what I'm planning: it's just going to be at our house since we don't have the money to rent a place, I think we're just going to make a cake (since she's going to destroy it anyway - why waste the money?), I'm not doing favors for the same reason as you - it's just going to be family and a few close friends and as far as decorations, I will decorate. My sister said she took her boys to the party store (or where ever), narrowed the choices down to two and then had them "pick". Whichever one they touched, that's what they decorated in. I figured I would do the same thing. Of course there will be lots of presents. :p And that's about it.
I hope that helps in the decision making process. I'm sure whatever you do, it will be wonderful. Miss J will have a wonderful time and it will just be a perfect day. :o)
That is so exciting! Go Miss J!
Too cute! She'll be running all over the place before you know it.
You definitely don't need party favors. You don't really need a theme either...but it may help you plan. My nephew just turned one and they had a pool party. They just put lots of blow up pool toys everywhere and the cake was shaped like a beach ball. If you order a cake some places will actually give you a mini-cake for her to get her hands on...so that's nice. Keep it simple and easy!
How exciting, her first steps!
I'm glad you and the hubs enjoyed a nice evening out, just the two of you. It must be nice!
Good luck on your continued WW success!
First steps! That's awesome!
It sounds like you had a great night out with your hubby!
