Comical

Oh yea...just wait for this story (and then hopefully these dramas are over!!)

So DH decided to talk to his boss last night before he left and tell him that he was leaving. But, his boss mentioned to him, first, that he wanted to talk to him about something. Hmmm, wonder what that could be. So DH walked with him to his office and DH made some comment about how he knows what he wants to talk to him about and it probably isn't a good thing...but DH also wants to talk to him and it probably isn't a good thing either (with a quirky smile). Turns out, they were going to let him go yesterday anyway.

Here is the kicker...

DH's boss complemented DH on what a great writer he was and how great he was with the customers and what a great ethic and morale he had...but his numbers just weren't there.

Uh...OK, can you say sounds like someone has their business a bit bass awkward. You are complementing this man on what a great worker he is, but firing him because he didn't write enough tickets or make as much $$ as joe schmo next to him who could care less about the customer or how much he screws him or let alone if that customer will EVER come back!! What the heck kind of business are you trying to run here? Expect to keep getting customers that way? There should really be a balance somewhere...but not in their minds I guess.

So DH and his boss chatted a bit, frankly, about how things are run there and how the director really needs to get a clue (which by the way, rumor has it he too will be fired soon...they have an add out for a new director already...he was only there a couple of months too).

So it was a good parting. And bitter sweet a bit because, come on, no one wants to be fired, but to be fired and complemented and told that if you ever need a reference in the future that he would give you one...Um...talk about comical!!

So that leaves an extra day off for DH this weekend. Nice! Oh, plus his boss said that he would still be getting his CSI bonus (which was like $500 last month, which, by the way, they have only received the past two months since DH was working there and before that it had been months and months...can we say Customer Service was probably UP because of DH??? Can't wait to hear what it will be next month with DH gone...oh yeah, but his numbers are down...frown) and he will still be getting his commission check. So that is nice too.

So DH is free to start this new job on Monday. Again, not as much $$, but so much closer to home. Can we say "sanity" will be kicking back in soon!!

God is soo good. I swear he set all of this up so perfectly...the fact that DH put his resume into this new place about 2-3 weeks after he started at that BS place. And when DH called to check on their hiring status the next week, the manager was out on vacation for that week. So the next week he called back and the guy sounded really interested and would call him for an interview. Next week, he set up an interview. Next week, he called him back to offer him the job. Next week, he starts the job...just as he was going to get let go from the BS place. Um, can we say only God could master mind and coordinate things THAT well. It is scary to think about it...because it is so surreal and real!! And amazing!!

And, we won't really have a halt in his income because he got paid today, then he will have his bonus/commission check next week, then maybe a small check from this past weeks work, then his new job will kick in!! Again, only a God thing if you ask me.

And on top of it, the grandmas are going to start watching Miss J next week, which means we get to save $250 in day care this month. Then in September, because Miss J will be 2yrs old and she will move up to the 2's room, the tuition will drop again, so another $100-150 on top of the $250 already...OK...I think we may see a light at the end of the tunnel!!

I swear, I feel so chipper today (if I weren't so tired, had a headache, and weren't pregnant, I would be doing cartwheels and spirit hands!!) But those tired and headache things seem to be so small in comparison to all the good that is going on. Such great news! I am so excited to be writing a chipper post.

My doc appt went great last night. I love it when the doctors tell you "You look GREAT!!". I am sure they tell every pregnant woman that because it really boosts them up and changes their mood. So she told me that a few times, and it really felt good...but in the same breath she said I really need to start watching how much weight I continue to gain. I am at 30#'s and still have 10 weeks to go. And based on their scale (which is always wrong :-) not matter which way it goes) I gained 5lbs over the past two weeks. I really didn't feel like I did, but I did eat a lot of junk yesterday which I didn't need to and it was humid so I am sure I was retaining water. So I would give it 3lbs...but not 5lbs. But, I weighed myself on my scale this morning, and lo and behold...I was higher than I should be. So, no more muffins/bagels/extra breakfasts in the AM. Sticking to salads and healthy sandwiches for lunch, yogurt for afternoon snack, and no more gorging on sweets after dinner. Yeah, those have been my pitfalls the past month or so (do you think stress may have something to do with it???) So, I just have to change my bad habits back to good habits and keep exercising like I have been, then I should be OK for the next 10-weeks (Can you believe only another 10-weeks...eek). I will say, I am doing MUCH better than when I was PG with Miss J. I gained at least 50# by this time with Miss J...so compared to that...I am not doing that bad.

OK, I have some work to do today so I can fly through the day, and get home to have dinner with DH and DD (for the first time in over 6-weeks)!! I am so excited!!

Thank you girls for your support and prayers and love...and Thank you God for your continued blessings and goodness. Faith is really hard to see and understand when you are going through the valley...all you see is drought and dark hills...but just keep walking because those dark hills and dry land can't go on forever...sun will break and the land will clear, just keep truckin!!

Oh, another God thing...I had been going to this weekly woman's bible class at church on Thursdays and this week my mom called me and told me she didn't think she would watch Miss J because she was sick and her back was really bad (this was Tuesday). So I was bummed, but pushed through. Wednesday she called and said she was feeling much better and she could, after all, watch Miss J on Thursday. Yeah!...I could go to my last class. I was really liking this class and really felt like it was having an impact on my life and faith. So I signed up a couple of weeks ago for another Thursday night class for August (this one for small group leading...which has been my passion for years, things just never fell into place...long story). So I signed up thinking my mom would be able to watch Miss J and just keep her overnight since she would be watching her on Fridays anyway. Last week she said she didn't think she could watch her Thursday nights again because she needed to get back to her meetings she usually attended on Thursdays. OK...bummer, but something will work out or I will cancel the class. Then...what happens, DH starts a new job...get this...where he will be home by 6pm EVERY NIGHT!! So he can be home to watch Miss J on Thursdays this month so I CAN go to this class!! OK...such a God thing I know!! Praise HIM!!

Have a great weekend everyone!

I am so happy that everything worked out with DH's work--sometimes things like that are just meant to be.

Don't worry about the wait. I am sure that once that baby arrives, you will lose it all quickly with two little ones to watch after!
