Book suggestions

No, I don't have any...I need some. I need some good parenting books on the following:

Potty Training
Moving from crib to big girl bed
Ridding of binky

Any suggestions that you seasoned parents can give, let me know...Thx!

On another note...I forgot to tell y'all that we are finally going on a trip. DH and I....alone!!! For our 3rd wedding anniversary in April, we booked a long weekend trip to Las Vegas. We are phyched. The last (and first) time we went to Vegas, we took his parents for their 30th wedding anniversary. Of course, that was when we were still dating, and had money to do that kind of thing. It was a wonderful trip and we always said we would love to go back to see more and do more. We don't gamble...but there is sooo much more to see than just gambling.

And, I will confess, that we kind of got duped into doing a tour of a timeshare while there. I know, I know. But, that is how we got free hotel for 3-nights. And if it means we just have to spend a couple hours viewing gorgeous condos in Las Vegas...then heck, I will take it. We just have to be SURE not to get sucked into anything. Like we can afford it anyway...

I am just happy to take a trip, the two of us, away from it all and feel like adults again. It will be good. Miss J will stay with one of the grandma's, or both. Not sure yet, but we have plenty of time to figure it out.

Our weekend hopefully will be fulfilling again. We are going to try to go look at kitchen ideas. Yes, we got the bug up our butts to do something with our 1960's kitchen (we still have the avacado green appliances). We actually have been talking about re-doing a lot of the house, even adding a second floor with a play room and master bedroom. Yeah, we kind of talked about possibly staying in our home, if we can add on to it, because we LOVE the land and the location. It is just small, and if we are going to have more kids, there just isn't enough room. And with the market the way it has been, we wouldn't be able to sell it for much, let alone afford what we really want. So, we talked, and decided to start something small, that would improve the value of the home (in case we decide we do want to move)...and the kitchen it is. We have some pretty cool ideas...hope it won't be a fortune!!

Then, on Sunday, we go to meet my SIL's fiance's family for dinner. Our whole family, aunts, grandmas, cousins, are all invited to meet with his whole family. I guess there will only be like 14 of us, but at first I thought it was going to be like immediate family kind of stuff, which would mean like 7 of us...so when I heard 14 I thought, wow...Ok then. It will be nice to get to know them better.

Other than that...still waiting on the insurance thing. Miss J is feeling soooo much better. She is still on her 4th round of antibiotics, and I feel like the ear infection still isn't gone. She itches and scratches at it like there is still fluid. We will know on Monday, and if so then we go to the ENT. But she has been sleeping through the night for two weeks straight (hope I don't jinx it) and is done with the coughing. She has such a great and cheery personality when she isn't sick.

Life is going good now...on the upswing I hope!!

A trip sounds wonderful! You call can get kitchen ideas from all of those beautiful condo's you will be looking at! How fun. Gary and I have not been on a trip alone since Lucas was born. We have a trip coming up but he is going with us. You all will have so much fun.

pregnancy test??? I need to go read that - but first I'll comment. About the insurance stuff - just stay on them!! Of course, wait to see what they cover, but then if they don't cover as much as you wanted, then call, call,c all, and they will give in!! I am fighting that battle about my homebirth right now... It'll be worth it...

Now I need to go see about this pregnancy test business everyone is commenting about!!

How great that you and DH are going to be able to take a trip together. Vegas is SO much fun! I don't like gambling either but there is just so much more to see and do there.

It's exciting that you're starting a kitchen remodel too. I know it might be overwhelming getting everything picked out and done. Just imagine how wonderful it will be when it all comes together though.

I'm glad to hear that Miss J is feeling much better!
