JW is 1-year

I cannot believe it either.

JW is a year old. where did the time go? How did he get so big so quickly?

He is walking. He is into EVERYTHING. He has almost 8-teeth. He is sounding out words. He is done with formula. He is kind of trying to eat with a fork (ok, he really just plays with it). He giggles when we tickle his toes...heck when we just take off his shoes, he has this sly smile that says "whaaaat are youuu doing??!!"

I love this boy. As fussy and crabby as he can be...I love him.

We have his birthday party this weekend. It will be construction trucks...as I eluded to in this post. I have decided to make my own cake. I think it will turn out really cute. I found some tonka trucks and will use crushed oreos and graham crackers for dirt and roads. I am excited to try it. No smash cake though...really...in the essence of trying to save a bit of money...I thought I would pass on that extra $10-15 not to mention $20+ for the cake. I think it will be just as well.

Tomorrow we have family pictures...outside. An extended family member does photography as a side job and he will be doing or pictures. I am really excited to use him and hope to get great photos. Looking for something different than the standard studio photos we have been getting for the past 3-years. Those were OK, but I hope for some really original fall outdoorsy type this time. And he is charging us like close to nothing...for the shoot and then for rights to the CD of pictures. Really...I was spending over $100 on the shoot and pictures, and usually it would be another $20-50 for the CD. But then what was the purpose of the CD because I had already bought the pictures I wanted and for the family. This time, I will get the pics taken and the CD for $75 and then post them online (snap fish or shutter fly) and then let the family pick out what they want and print them as they please. A LOT less stress and worry am I going to pick the right one, the right size, for the right person...not to mention pay for them!! Now they can do it themselves.

So please pray for a nice sunny day. It is only supposed to be about 50/55 degrees...wish it were warmer, but I will be happy with sunshine and NO RAIN!!
