Good...bad...bad...good

Food is good...oh so good that sometimes it is oh so bad for you.

Exercise is good...oh so good that sometimes it is oh so good for you (OK so there is nothing bad about exercise, unless you don't do it or do it too much, which is not the problem in my case).

Yesterday I took a Turbo Kick class here at work. Kicked my butt pretty hard. I liked it and hope they continue to offer it. That was good.

Had a healthy salad and bowl of soup for lunch. That was good.

Had a tombstone pizza last night (not the whole thing, I split it with my hubby). That was not so good...but not so bad either...mmmm...food.

So today, I knew we were going out with our friends tonight to a new Pasta restaraunt up north (I cannot wait...so much fun to hang with some friends, drink some wine, all while Miss J is sleeping it up with grandma/grandpa). I know the food is going to be oh soooooo gooooood, but maybe not oh so good for the bod...but that is OK...all in balance.

But then I get into work today, and notice they have "Cook to Order Pasta Bar". Ohhhh sooooo goood stuff. This is no normal basic boring pasta bar...they have so many options. Pesto, meat sauce, marinara sauce, alfredo (or a mixture of any of them), garlic, lots of garlic, spinich, squash, zuccini, broccoli, penne, bowtie, fettuccini. Yummy. All with a side of veggies, of course. That was good (I just got done eating), but not so good either from the health standpoint...not to mention I am having MORE pasta tonight. OK, can we say carb overload.

I guess I will have to balance it out with some walking this weekend(or maybe just some bicep curls with the glass of wine). I hope to be out gardening if the weather is nice. So that is good. Or go for a walk with Miss J if it is nice. That is good too.

So in the end...do I come out ahead or not? They do seem to balance themselves out pretty well. My problem is, I need the health to out-weigh the not so healthy. Otherwise I will never hit my goal to lose this baby weight. Try and try again.

I think I might try Weight Watchers once again. My problem will be getting to the meetings and finding the time to organize my life with healthy foods. It is hard to keep in stock the healthy stuff, cook the healthy stuff the healthy way, go to the meetings, all with a 8-month old and a husband and a full time job. Hmmm, got to figure that one out.

Anyway girls...hope you have a fab weekend. I will try to enjoy our night out tonight, try to organize my closet tomorrow or garden tomorrow or go for a walk tomorrow, and go see my FIL on Sunday along with church. Wheww, I am exhausted already from thinking about all that stuff.

Oh, by the way, my FIL should be checking out of the hospital today. He went in on the 10th of April for his Bone Marrow Transplant, and all seems to be going so well that he should be checking out today, which is earlier than anticipated. There is still a long recovery ahead...but so far so good. Please pitch out a prayer for him if you get a second!

Ah the woes of food. I love it and it loves my hips.

mmmm DH and I love pasta too. And it doesn't help that it is one of the only things I can cook well! But, my hubby is trying to loose weight, so I'm learning to cook other things...slowly but surely! I do miss my pasta though! :) DH uses a website called PeerTrainer.com to help him loose weight. They have groups you can join (I think they even have groups for Mommies who are trying to loose their baby weight!) and you just post daily what you have eaten and how much you have excercised. You can encourage your group memebers, post motivation, etc. He really likes it, and it might be something for you to consider instead of having to find time to go to meetings and all! Just a suggestion though. Whatever you decide to do, I wish you luck! YOU CAN DO IT!!

Oh yeah, I'm terrible when it comes to food- I am home and try to eat better but now the problem isn't having the right stuff in the house it's making sure I choose the good stuff & not just the yummy stuff! Did you join WW again? If so I hope it's going well for you.
I'll keep your FIL in my thoughts. I'm glad that so far things are going well for him!
I will talk to you soon!!

Ah, one of the benefits of being allergic to so many foods. Hee hee! It's harder to misbehave that way, but I still manage to somehow.

I wanted to send you a little thanks for your comments (you're always welcome to post on both!) - especially about the weight gain thing. It really has been bugging me. I suppose I'll be joining the "losin' it" club soon...I'll see if I can share the hubby's personal training experience when the time comes. He usually has some interesting twists and turns to his methods. ;)

Oh, and I never have heard from Platinum Rose. She's a fluttery little butterfly...perhaps we need bigger net!

Best wishes to your FIL. I hope things continue to go smoothly for him...he'll be in my prayers!
