Most recent pictures of the kids below. We didn't get around to getting JW's 3-month pictures, but his 4-months pictures will have to do. I have to say...we have some darn cute looking kids (a little biased, I know), but I thought they turned out pretty good!!

Everything turned out OK with the truck. When I called the guy that day, he was all apologetic that he didn't get the info to the bank and that there was no problem with the financing, yada, yada, yada. However, when we "negotiated" the price, we wanted to get the truck GM certified. That was normally $500 and the guy dropped it to $300...we took it, but they couldn't certify it that night. So DH took it back the next weekend and believe it or not, turns out the truck was already certified!! Yeah, I was a little miffed. So DH called the sales manager to tell him this and he kind of beats around the bush. Well, we noticed after we bought it that the bumper had a huge dent in it and was pushed in...so after all this certified stuff, they offered to fix the bumper at their cost. I wasn't going to fight with them any more. But I will tell you that I will never go through a dealer again...ugh. But we have the truck, and it is so much fun. There is a DVD player with wireless headphones that Miss J looks so cute wearing. She loves her Curious George...and loves the fact that she can "watch Geroge in daddy's new truck." Too cute. Both kids were sick for a few weeks. JW sick enough that he was on a nebulizer 4-times a day for over two weeks now. If that isn't time consuming!! But, he is getting better. Just a little mucusy stuff now. And Miss J has a constant runny nose. But at least she can "blow" her nose now and we don't have to suck or wait for it to drip out. They are getting better, just in time for dad and mom to get it!
And with them being sick, JW has NOT made any sleep progress. Because the first week his appetite was lacking, when he would wake up at 2am I would feed him because I wanted to flush out the gunk and felt bad if he was hungry. So I coddled him a bit for a couple weeks, but we are trying to get back on track. He is up around 11pm to eat. Then up at 2am, but I pop his binky back in and he goes back to sleep until about 5am. I then try to push the 5am to 6am, but doesn't work too well. So I feed him around 5 or 6am. The babywise book says that PDF babies will naturally wake up around 5am, and if you go in and feed them that will become their wake time. But, if I don't go in, he cries and gets worked up and then wakes Miss J up and then the whole family is up at 5am and cranky by 8am. So, I try to run in there and pop his binky in, but most times he just dozes for another 10 minutes and is back crying.
I remember with Miss J, when we started "sleep training" her, that she would wake up in the morning just cooing and talking. Really sweet...a sign she had enough sleep and was ready to wake up. But JW, sometimes he is cooing, but most of the time crying...until you go in and then he is smiling and a happy baby. I wish he were further along.
I went through Miss J's baby book and found that she was about on the same schedule as Jack by her age. So where I thought Miss J was sleeping through the night at 3 months was wrong, it was an 11pm to 6am bout at about 4 months. So we aren't that far off with JW...but I wish it were better.
Work...well, we just went through a big lay off in our location. 34 people over two days. And our group, which consists of our boss and 3 of us, knew one of us was going to be part of that lay off. Just didn't know which one. Each of us sure thought it could be us...and I was really upset about it on Tuesday. Come Wednesday, it turned out to be JS, which we would not have ever imagined. But he did project work as opposed to the day to day stuff, and guess they thought he could be indispensable. Problem is he had so much knowledge base and system expertise, that the project I was working on with him is going to be a lot slower without him. Not to mention he was the sole provider for his family, his wife was stay at home with two young kids. Ugh...they gave him a decent severance package too...but still, ugh.
Tough economy. If you aren't being laid off, someone in your family is or a friend is. I don't know how to survive this. It is depressing no matter what end you are on, if it is you or if you know some one. We are really starting to find the "excess" in our spending to cut back and try to live as if we are in a recession or like one of us lost our jobs. Because we never know...no one is "safe".
Other than that...life is good, family is good. We are having 3 couples over on Saturday for a Valentines day dinner. I am looking forward to some grown up chatter and fun!! Miss J is going to MIL's and JW is going to grandmas for the night (we are picking him up after the dinner). So...looking forward to a fun weekend.
Then on Monday I start my women's small group!! Yeah, I am leading some women through Beth Moores Believing God series. Can't wait...it will be a lot for me to lead, and organize and study and prepare...along with the kids and work...but God put this opportunity in my hands, he must think I can handle it!!
Have a great weekend ladies.
